Dirt to Dust
So unclean, yet so important.
Dirt is considered an insult,
Negative connotations surround it,
But in our demise it is transformed.
We throw it as a sign of respect,
On the coffins and graves of our deceased.
No longer dirt, but now dust.
It is as elegant as rose petals.
We freely grab it in our hands.
what once was an insult brings comfort.
Ashes to ashes and dirt to dust.
The earth transforms us all.
