There was an old lady

There was an old woman,
Who lived in a shoe.
She had so many debts,
She didn’t know what to do.
She said “I’ll pay it off bit by bit”,
But the bank manager was having none of it.
“Pay me now or you’ll lose your shoe.”
The woman worried and her debt just grew.
There was an old woman,
Who lived in a shoe.
The bailiffs where coming,
And she didn’t know what to do.
They struck down her door,
She fell to the floor.
Shaking like jelly,
As they took out her telly.
There was an old woman,
Who lived in a shoe.
The stock market crashed,
And no-one knew what to do.
She called the credit company,
Who had offered her plenty;
They said “tough luck”
With your debts you’re now stuck.
There was an old woman,
Who lived in a shoe.
But now it’s repossessed,
And she’s had no rest.
They pursued her through the courts,
To her predicament they gave no second thoughts.
The judge order her to pay,
But she cried “Please sir there is no way”.
There was an old woman,
Who lived in a shoe.
With odds like a lottery,
It could have been you.
