Little Box of Hearts

“Ooooooh –
Oh!
My heart
Has been ripped out of my empty chest
With force
Oh yes – your force!
My heart
My poor heart.
Your hand. On my heart. Grasping! And then you take it
And put it
In your box
Your box of hearts.”
Is hopefully the worst poem that any of us will ever have to read.
David, yesterday I very nearly wrote simply “Trick!!” I thought that would have worked against the image on many levels, but it felt like far too much of a cop-out!
As for this piece, I know for definite that it’s not the worst poem I’ll have to read, because I’ve already read far worse! (I quite liked it actually. :-) )
