The Greatest Advice I Ever Received

The greatest advice I ever received came from my Uncle Gareth one rainy day in Devon.
I was only about six at the time and therefore completely unable to either understand it or realise just how important it would become to me in later life. But now I cherish it, that wisdom, and will be forever grateful to Gareth for what he gave to me.
Uncle Gareth also gave me the second most important advice I ever received.
I remember that just as well, if not better.
‘You know that thing I just told you?’ he said as the rain ran off his nose. ‘Never tell another living soul.’
