Three Lions, One Dog
I promised myself I wouldn’t get involved this time round. I’ve said over and over again for weeks that I wouldn’t get my hopes up. I suppose I couldn’t face going through it all once more, who would want to get that hurt AGAIN? But on Friday, I started to yap. I couldn’t help it, it just happened. By Saturday, it was worse and on Sunday they got annoyed enough to shut me in the kitchen. This morning the yap had become more of an uncontrollable howl. It was a bit embarrassing really. By the time they got home from work, I was barking and howling like crazy. What can I say? I got caught up in all the excitement. They’ve only got themselves to blame really, I lack the opposable thumbs to have put it on myself. Now I’ll have to watch England v France from out here.
For a much, much better football story, read Ian Sharman’s ‘Wotsits & the Hand of God’ (8th June 2010). I love it!
Oh, thank you!
