The last paragraph took me right back with a hardy guffaw.

A lighter tone to the story this time, although the subject is deadly serious. Great imagery and descriptions to make the reader understand what the protagonist is going through. And some good insight and thoughts about addiction and the disparity in treatment of people with nicotine (or even caffeine) addiction. (All very true, too, from my observation as a counselor and psych nurse.)

Great use of all the senses here, Cyn. Evocative. (Well, I presume so - I'm one of those bastards who decided to quit smoking one day and never looked back...)

Yes this would have been a lot shorter if I'd just put "murderous rage + mints = quitting smoking." :o)

And take it from one who knows - you should not quit caffeine. Cut down? Yes. But if you quit caffeine entirely then you will be in a world of hurt when the inevitable happens and you consume a random mid-afternoon diet Coke. Well, if "world of hurt" = "can't sleep for days."

Sometimes I try to quit caffeine. It isn't working out all that well for me. THANKS FOR REMINDING ME, Cyn!
