Home Made Cooking
“A cheeseburger is a hamburger containing cheese. The term itself is a portmanteau of the words “cheese” and “hamburger.” The cheese is usually sliced, then added a short time before the hamburger finishes cooking to allow it to melt. In fast food restaurants, the cheese that is added to a cheeseburger is typically American cheese, but there are many other variations. Mozzarella, blue cheese, pepper jack, and especially cheddar are popular choices.”

On wednesday, I got up at around six. After a shower and a quick breakfast (a small bowl of all bran and some juice) I took the dog for a walk. I picked up a couple of newspapers while we were out, and when we got back I spent about an hour catching up with the world.
At around ten I went down to the gym. I spent about ten minutes on the treadmill, at level 7. After that I spent some time on the rowing machine. I thought I saw someone I recognised in the shower, but I only got a glimpse of them so I could have been mistaken.
At around noon I made a ham and cheese omelette for lunch, and ate it listening to radio 4. After that I spent a couple of hours going through my emails, replying to anything important, and deleting the crap. I checked the spam folder to see if anything important had gone in there by mistake, as that sometimes happens, but there was nothing.
At two I went down to the library to continue my research. I was there for about two and a half hours, and didn’t make a lot of progress, although I did uncover a few loosely related facts.
On the way home I stopped in at a butcher’s and bought some mincemeat so I could make burgers. I also stopped in at the Co-op for some eggs, an onion, cheese and bread rolls.
When I got home I started work on the burgers. I was just putting them in the oven when a man dressed in black burst through the window and tried to shoot me. I managed to disarm him by knocking the gun out of his hand with a frying pan, and a brief struggle ensued, culminating with me breaking the man’s neck. This was frustrating as it meant that I wouldn’t be able to get any information out of him.
After I had finished disposing of the body I ate the burgers. They were delicious.

You had me right to the last couple of paragraphs. I’m not sure if it was a satire, or the calmness with which the protagonist disposed of the attacker and resumed his meal is indicative of protagonist’s frame of mind. I think it was something of a satire though. In any case, it was an interesting take on the picture. Cheeseburgers of death seems to be a common reaction to picture, though. It is kind of funny.
