I’ve responded to this via e-mail, but thought it would be worth mentioning here – as long as an edit is only for clarity – say a typo-fix or an edit that doesn’t significantly change the content or intent of a piece, I don’t see a problem with this, as long as it’s noted in the comments.

I’d like to hear reader’s thoughts, though – I wonder if it’s worth doing a poll?

Yeah, that sentence has an appositive with another appositive, with yet another appositive. That’s like three layers of convolution. Is it bad faith to split a sentence in twain after posting?
